We went to see my wife’s parents last weekend, and I spent some time in their beautiful garden taking pictures of bugs. This is one of my mother-in-law’s prized Zinnas being serviced by a honeybee.

What, you want wallpaper? Sure, I can help you there.

Unless, of course, you want a widescreen version, in which case… oh, wait. Here you go. [Edit:fixed the broken wallpaper link]

David, just so you know the link for that widescreen wallpaper is broken, not sure exactly why.
And the first wallpaper isn’t the same image, not sure if that was intentional or not. Still a good pic, but its from the top of the bee rather than the side.

    Awesome pics though!

Thanks, Brian–I fixed the link. Whoops on the wallpaper. I kinda like the top-down, but it looks like I screwed up my image indexing. Erk.

I think those are honeybees, David! Nice to know there are still some out there, doing what honeybees do.

Hey, thanks for the shout out about me getting your name wrong…don’t know why I wrote Dan instead of David. It’s fixed now! ;-)

I posted some more bug shots (spiders). Can you verify that the one in the top two postings is a barn spider? I did a little research and I think that’s what it is…but I would love to have you take a gander!

    Hi Cindy!

I replied over on your blog. Your spider is a garden spider of some sort. Beyond telling you the gender (she’s female) I’m afraid I’m not much help.
