It definitely looks cool. I’d almost expect those hairs to be tine-like and stick to you if you press too hard!

I’ve just been trying to sort out some Tiger Moth caterpillars I found around the place, and I think this one is related. It looks close, but not identical, to Ctenucha virginica. It’s probably a relative, but my guides tend to concentrate on Eastern and Midwestern caterpillars, so Seattle is a bit out of their range.
Incidentally, does anyone know for sure how to pronounce “Ctenucha”?
