Kestralyn: Sorry about that. I wonder, instead of having a SFA category (which filters out spiders only)... perhaps I should let people filter their browsing experience based on "maximum number of legs". :-)

Too many legs! Too many legs! GET IT AWAY!!!!! GAHAAHAHAHAHA!

Sorry. I've been finding that the photos on this site have been helping me cope with spiders better, but the many, many legged thingies still set me off in a fit.

Gyaaarhghghg! We get these things in our basement (and sometimes upstairs). I've heard they're Good Guys but they seriously gross me out. The first time I saw one, the way it moved made me think it was a hideously mutated cockroach. I about crawled out of my skin just looking at it.

ok... So my parents got a manufactered home from the coast, and it must've had some eggs from these on it, because the first few years, they were *everywhere*. They seriously creeped me out at first. More so than spiders. But then I found out that they're predators too and they eat spiders! (because all our spiders went missing when these showed up) So, since I didn't like spiders and I hadn't been bitten by one the first two years, I decided they can't be that bad... The ones we had were at least twice the size of that one tho. With their legs in the same position, ours were at least 1.5 inches across and probably 3 inches long when full grown! (They must've been eating well!) Ours were pretty blues and greens too. LOL

And an important note to those who still find them too creepy to have around: For the love of you-know-who, DO NOT use a fly swatter on those things... I'm not even going to say why. Just don't. :P

Those things are creepy, and I fear them way more than I fear most spiders. Unfortunately for them, this fear doesn't translate into "Run away," but instead "Kill it with Fire!"

My appreciation bugs has been increasing as I get older. I actually think spiders are beautiful now. But this guy has me seriously creeped out. I can't stand crustaceans and this guy looks waaaay to close to one. I literally have to put my menu up at a seafood restaurant if my wife and son are devouring crab legs. Too creepy!
