My wife would like me to point out that she is NOT a wuss, and that her use of the word "infestation" was meant as a joke.

I thought it was obvious, but when my wife asks me to point out such things, I do so, because I don't want her to be upset with me. She sics the dogs on me when she's upset with me! ;)

Also, did you get the pictures I sent of the dragonfly at the beach and the grasshopper in the pine tree? I'm keeping my eyes peeled for more bugs to send your way.

My daughter had to make a diorama for school and her "animal" (everyone got assigned an African animal) was a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach. She made them out of clay, life size, and put smiley faces on them. Hilarious.

Whoo! I'm famous now!!

No? Not yet? Okay, I'll just keep working on it then.

Anyways, glad you liked it. This site has inspired me to carry a camera with me everywhere I go so I can snap cool photos! Sure, over half of them don't come out well, but those couple neat pictures I get are very satisfying.

And tceisele? I've never had a cockroach fall on me at all, and I don't want any of those! Those things are crazy!

Given the memories they'd stir up for you, I'm assuming that you don't want some of these then.

I was actually just playing with some of these last night: our public library had a sort of "insect fest" event that we took our daughter to, and she couldn't tear herself away from the hissing cockroach area (they were being harnessed up to little paper sleds to see how many pennies they could tow. They could manage about 10 times their own weight, as it turns out). We might have to get her some of her own at some point.
